Civic calendar | Eureka Planners to Discuss Pink Lady’s Future – Times-Standard

Editor’s Note: The following is a list of board, commission, and council meetings scheduled for next week in Humboldt County.

Arcata Fire District Board of Directors

When: The second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Arcata Station Classroom, 631 Ninth St., Arcata. Meetings can be viewed on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/551748203.

• The district will consider extending government meetings virtually.

• The District will consider a resolution to adopt changes to the California Fire Code.

• The district will discuss the final financial report for 2021-22.

Arcata Planning Commission

When: Second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m.

Where: City Council Chambers: 736 F St, Arcata. The meeting can be viewed on the city’s website, the city’s YouTube page or through the Access Humboldt channels.

• The commission will discuss the proposed Gateway Area Plan, particularly with respect to building height and resources.

Eureka Urban Planning Commission

When: Second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Eureka City Council Chambers, 531 K Street, Eureka

• Planners will consider a request to allow the Pink Lady Mansion to be transformed into a lodging house with a restaurant with ‘tea and tour’ events. The first floor of the freestanding shed would be a gift shop with a residence on the second floor.

Fortuna Planning Commission

When: Second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

Where: City Hall, 621 11th St., Fortuna

•Planners will hold a public hearing to review a permit for Wendt Construction that allows an accessory unit to exceed minimum building height limits.

•Planners will conduct a design review of a fixtures warehouse at the Eel River Brewery and consider licensing the building.

Humboldt Bay Joint Fire Powers Authority

When: The second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m.

Where: Humboldt Bay Fire Conference Room, 533 C Street Eureka,

• Council will hear updates from the Fire Chief, including a donation from Ron Brown/Carriage Carwash in honor of 9/11. In addition, new recruits will be presented,

Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District

When: The second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.

Where: Meeting room Woodley Island Marina, Eureka. The meeting can be viewed via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6917934402.

• Council will meet in camera at 5:00 pm to discuss real estate negotiations.

• At the regular meeting at 6:00 pm, council will discuss the Humboldt Bay Natural Shoreline Infrastructure project.

• Council will discuss a permit with conditions for the Humboldt Bay Trail South.

• Council will discuss the removal and relocation of a naval vessel to district property.

• The board will consider appointing an apprentice bar pilot.

Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District

When: The second Thursday of each month at 9 a.m.

Where: 828 Seventh St., Eureka

• Council will meet behind closed doors to discuss ongoing lawsuits at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

• Council will continue discussions on water planning for Nordic Aquafarms and Trinidad Rancheria.

Humboldt County Board of Supervisors

When: Every Tuesday except the fifth Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m.

Where: Supervisors’ Rooms, 825 Fifth St., Eureka

• The October 11 meeting is cancelled.

Trinidad City Council

When: The second Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

Where: Trinidad City Hall 409 Trinity St., Trinidad

• Council will meet in camera at 5:30 pm to discuss an ongoing lawsuit.

• Council will hold a public hearing on unmet transit needs

• Council will discuss an update for the 2022 general election.
