September 29

The distribution of winter coats will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Care and Share on September 29 and 30 and October 1. Enter through the east donation gate and only one family is allowed at a time. Masks are mandatory. Winter equipment for all ages on a first come, first served basis. All new or lightly used conditions.

September 30

The Wesley United Methodist Church Salad Luncheon will be held Thursday, September 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The cost is $ 12 and includes a variety of salads, desserts, and drinks.

October 1st

UMN Crookston Teambackers Tailgate before the Golden Eagles volleyball game will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The time of the match is at 6:00 p.m. Brats, burgers, dogs and refreshments served, free will offer, everyone is welcome. Look for the Teambacker tent at the south end of the campus mall near the north end of the wellness center entrance. Can’t take part in the match? Watch live online.

October 2

Crookston Library’s “Starting a Small Business” presentation with Carol Simmons of Real Good Bath & Body from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the library. Find out how Simmons turned his hobby into a successful business. The presentation is free, and those interested in creating their own take-home construction product should contact the library at 218-281-4522 by September 30 to reserve their materials.

Bible Baptist Church Family Fall Festival free event for the public with games, rides, bounce houses, prizes and food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.

October 9

The Alluma “E-Race Stigma” Suicide Prevention Walk will be held from 10 am to 12 noon from Crookston High School.

The Crookston Fire Department Open House will be held at the Main Street South Fire Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a variety of activities, a hot dog lunch, resources and freebies.

12 october

The Ox Cart Days 2022 planning meeting will take place at 5 p.m. at Valley Tech Park. If you would like to join the committee, attend the meeting or send an email to [email protected]

17 october

The Rotary and Masonic Lodge Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lodge on West Robert Street. Pancakes, French toast, sausages, juice and coffee will be served with an accepted voluntary offering. Profits are donated to scholarships.

October 18

UMN Crookston Homecoming Week October 18-24 with UMC Soccer / Alumni Awards Celebration / UMC Hockey October 22, Campus Tour / Class of 1990 Lunch / Teamackers Tailgate / UMC Hockey / Alumni Social on October 23 and UMC Soccer on October 24 . Other events are to be determined.

October 19

United Way of Crookston Soup and Chili Cookoff & Chocolate Extravaganza will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crookston High School. Enjoy samples and vote for your favorites. The cost is $ 5 per person aged 5 and under for free. Free will donations are also accepted and the proceeds will be donated to Centraide. A pirate volleyball match against Roseau will follow.

21st of October

The Civic Music League event “The Everly Set” will take place at 7:00 pm at the CHS Auditorium. Admission to the concert is by subscription only – get yours at www.crookstoncivicmusicleague.com. UMN Crookston Golden Eagles Hockey home games will be held at Crookston Sports Center on October 22-23, October 29-30, November 5-6, November 19-20, December 4-5, October 22 and January 23, February 18 and 19, and March 4 and 5. Watch the Times and UMN Crookston for game times and more information.

The draw for reserved parking spaces at the Crookston Sports Center will take place at 1:00 p.m. Register your name now for a place valid from November 1, 2021 to October 31, 2022. October 26

The Otter Tail Power Company LED Steering Wheel Christmas Lights Pickup Event will be held at the Otter Tail Building in Crookston on October 26th. Check the schedules for the time of the event and more information.

October 28

The Crookston Community Theater “Murder at Sunset Lodge” will be presented at the Eagles Club on October 28th, 29th and 30th. More information will be available.

29 october

The Halloween party at Scobey’s Pub & Grub will have food from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will be open to everyone. Children in fancy dress will receive a free meal with the purchase of an adult ticket. An adult party starts at 9 p.m. with a DJ, costume contest and more.

October 31

The 2nd Historic Halloween Candy Hunt will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in downtown Crookston. The DCDP (Downtown Crookston Development Partnership) will have candy stations in historic buildings as well as fun and scary facts about some of your favorite places. November 9

Crookston Library “Starting and Sustaining a Small Business” featuring Vertical Malt will be held from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the library. Find out how Vertical Malt turned his small business into a large-scale operation.

November 27

Small business shopping and Saturday events in Crookston including retail sales and Rotary Club tree lighting.

1st Annual Donation Festival at the Crookston Inn. This year, they will be raising funds for Toys for Tots. More details to come.

29 november

Grandparents’ Night from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Washington School or from birth to five years old and their grandparents or special adult friends. For more information, call the Community Ed office at 218-281-5078.

Regular events:

Crookston City Council meets every second and fourth Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall in Council Chambers.

The Crookston School Board meets every fourth Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Crookston High School in the Choir / Orchestra Hall.

The Polk County Commissioners Council meets on the first, third and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8 / 9.30 / 8 a.m. at the Polk County Government Center.

The Crookston Public Library Books and Brews Book Club meets every fourth Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Drafts Sports Bar & Grill to discuss books and enjoy drinks. Everyone is welcome.

Lunches at the Golden Link Senior Center at noon Monday to Friday and dinners on Thursday.

The Cove Youth Center for high school students is open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with occasional schedule changes. Call ahead to check availability at 218-470-0149.

New Hope Food Shelf is open at the Care and Share building every Monday and Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Call 218-277-000 for more information or to donate.
