How to customize Message, Mail, Calendar, and other notifications on your Apple Watch

One of the benefits of using an Apple Watch is to show app notifications without looking at your iPhone. You can mirror the actions of these notifications so that they act the same on both devices. For many native apps, you can customize these actions. By doing this, you can ensure that less important notifications don’t become a disruption.

Here’s how Apple Watch notifications work on Apple Watch 6 and earlier models.

How to customize notifications for Apple’s built-in apps on Apple Watch

You can establish personalization rules for native Apple Watch apps from the Watch app on iPhone:

  1. Press the Apple watch app on your iPhone’s home screen.
  2. To select Notifications in the My watch tab.

  4. Press on Custom.

You can choose to enable or disable notifications for Wallet and Apple Pay.

How to troubleshoot personalized notifications

If your personalized notifications aren’t working, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take.

First, you can turn notifications off and on and see if the problem resolves on its own. This solution would be the simplest and the fastest. You can also remove and install the Apple Watch apps causing the problem. As a last solution, you can reset your Apple Watch.
