Arkansas Tech University has created a new online calendar designed to inform its internal and external audiences of general interest events on campus.

The calendar, available at, lists events open to the public and provides easy access to important dates relating to the semester-by-semester academic calendar.

The launch of ATU’s new online calendar is the culmination of a process initiated by a communications task force of Arkansas Tech faculty and staff.

The task force was established by Dr. Robin E. Bowen, President of the ATU, and chaired by Dr. Mary B. Gunter, Chief of Staff in the Office of the President of the ATU. The group was brought together to identify and address opportunities to improve communication at Arkansas Tech.

“Our goal is for this calendar to be a resource that anyone with an affinity for Arkansas Tech University can visit to find out what’s going on and how they can get involved,” said Sam Strasner, director of academic relations at the ‘HAVE YOU. “I encourage members of the ATU community to check the calendar frequently. It will be updated regularly and continuously as plans for upcoming events are finalized. I hope the new calendar in online will make us even more connected as a university community.

Events designed only for current ATU students will continue to be listed on theLink at

“This calendar is more customizable than the ones we’ve offered in the past,” Strasner said. “This strength is evidenced by the ability to choose a list view or calendar view by clicking the icons in the upper right corner of the online calendar. In the calendar option, end users can choose to view events on a monthly, weekly or daily basis. I encourage users to invest a few moments in finding the view that best suits them and their preferences. »
