Red Wings announce promotional schedule; tickets on sale friday

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today announced the promotional schedule and fan giveaways for the upcoming 2022-23 season. Red Wings fans are encouraged to register for a presale at runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, August 4. Tickets for the entire 2022-23 season will then go on sale this Friday, August 5 at 10 a.m.

The Red Wings will host 16 home games over the weekend. Highlight matchups include the home opener (October 14 against the Montreal Canadiens), Halloween (October 29 against the Minnesota Wild), Thanksgiving Eve (November 23 against the Nashville Predators), New Year’s Eve ( December 31 against the Ottawa Senators), Kids Day (March 12 against Boston Bruins), Fan Appreciation Night (April 10 against Dallas Stars) and more.

The highlight of this season’s themed evenings is the 25th anniversary celebration November 3 and 5. The Red Wings will pay homage to two of the most iconic teams in franchise history – the 1997 squad that won the club’s first Stanley Cup in 42 years and the 1998 squad that won back-to-back championships. Additional details regarding the celebration weekend will be announced at a later date.

Four Bobblehead Nights will return to Little Caesars Arena, featuring the defending Calder Memorial Trophy winner Moritz Seider (Dec. 3 vs. Vegas Golden Knights), NHL Hall of Famer Nicklas Lidstrom (Jan. 21 vs. Philadelphia Flyers), 2021-22 NHL Rookie Draft Lucas Raymond (February 25 against Tampa Bay) and former Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg (March 18 against Colorado Avalanche).

“We are preparing for what will be an exciting and highly anticipated Detroit Red Wings season,” said Chris McGowan, President and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. “With a new roster, several special events and dozens of great giveaways, we’re looking forward to creating a great home advantage for our team and a great atmosphere for our fans.”

Several games that carry a special ticket package will be presented in Hockeytown. The fan-favorite “Love Your Melon” beanie returns for Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Nov. 25 against the Arizona Coyotes and Nov. 30 against the Buffalo Sabres, Grateful Dead Night is slated for Jan. 14 against the Buffalo Blue Jackets. Columbus, Star Wars Night returns Feb. 9 against the Calgary Flames, and Tigers Night — complete with a Red Wings/Tigers co-branded hat — will take place April 6 against the Buffalo Sabres.
