Texas Fashion Week gets official time on city calendar

In San Antonio, the first week of October is now officially recognized as Texas Fashion Week (TXFW).

From October 1-7, designers, models, photographers and more will be making San Antonio places like the Tobin Center, Brick and Rosenberg Skyroom of the University of the Incarnate Word their runway.

TXFW Founder and Chairman Bugundy Woods kicked off the event in 2019 as Fashion Week SATX. Since then, the fashion and culture week celebration has grown into a statewide event, but remains based and hosted in the town of Alamo.

Woods and TXFW executive producer Saige Thomas announced a proclamation from San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg on Wednesday officially marking Texas Fashion Week in the city October 1-7.

The program of events includes a launch mix, a cutting-edge fashion show, a “Look Local” evening showcasing San Antonio manufacturers and stores, a show dedicated to streetwear designers and a “Celebrate Fashion” show. . The week culminates with the Texas Fashion Week Awards on October 7 at the Tobin Center.

This year marks TXFW’s first with the Connects program of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, which is a network supporting and connecting fashion weeks across the United States.

“It’s a huge victory for our team to not only have the support of CFDA but also the support of our city,” Thomas said online.
